Hello, I’m Sarah and I am a Doula living in Ashtead, Surrey. I provide Doula services for families living in Ashtead, Epsom, Leatherhead, Cobham and surrounding areas. I live with my husband and 3 children.
I dreamed of being a midwife when I was a teenager - I love all things pregnancy, women, babies and am a very caring person. However, I chose a different path in my career and instead worked as a PA alongside having my own beauty business.
After having babies of my own and experiencing very different births, again I felt a huge pull towards birth work and decided to train to be a Doula. I trained with the amazing Kicki Hansard at Birth Bliss Academy and as soon as I started the course I knew I had found my calling! Being a Doula isn’t about making decisions for the mother, it’s about supporting her, providing her with information and giving her confidence to make informed choices that feel right to her.
I know that going into birth feeling prepared and having someone with you who is only there to care for you during labour can be invaluable. I am totally nonjudgmental about what type of birth you want to have, my only aim will be to make you feel as comfortable as possible and have all the information to make informed choices.
Birth changes a women such an immense way, its only natural that in among the sleepless nights, changes to their body and the whole process of manstruence, that mothers can feel like they have lost a part of themselves. My aim as a doula is help make mother feel like the amazing queen she is by helping her during her post natal period by providing emotional support, prepare meals, and if you would like, I can do a few beauty treatments for you to help make you feel a bit more like yourself. Becoming a mother is the most beautiful and transformative time in your life, but having your eyebrows done and a pedicure can certainly help make you feel good!
I am a friendly, positive person, I love talking all things babies, children and women’s health. My hobbies are beauty and fashion, cooking and chatting about a favourite TV show. I love talking about anything and everything and am very open minded and try to approach most things in life with a good dose of humour. I also love young children and babies and think they are the most funny and clever little things in the world. I believe children and babies should be treated with love and respect and that their behaviour should be expected to be reflective of what is biologically normal and age appropriate. My first love is my family (and our bengal cat, Wilma) and my second is definitely food! I love cooking, talking about food, eating food!
